Help and StripR Fabrics

Hi everyone! Sorry it's been so long since we blogged..... I've been having trouble coming up with ideas for blog posts.... So to begin with.... I need your help, Please comment below with some suggestions for future blog posts.

So, what I am so excited to share with y'all today is the amazing StripR fabric! If you follow Holloway's on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/hollowaysquilts) you may have seen posts about this fabric recently and thought "What is it?". StripR fabric comes on the bolt and is already in 2in strips. (This is what your strip fabrics become when you cut them to 2.5in strips and then piece them together.) So, this special fabric helps cut down on how much cutting you have to do for a project. It makes it really quick as there's less actual cutting work involved, instead you can spend all your time piecing and quilting.

Some of the amazing and easy projects we've done with this fabric are:
Table Trivets

 Star Wall Hanging

Table Runner (Free pattern available online)

Wall hanging (not quilted yet)

These fabrics make loop n shift and bargello quilts go together FAST!  What is one project you want to work on or that you're currently working on, that you think these fabrics would be perfect for?

Quilt Barns of East Tennessee

If you have been following our blog then you know that we have been a little arms preoccupied with quilt barns lately.  Starting with Shop Hop, we unveiled the photos of 12 of our favorites printed on fabric as part of each shop's block.  Then in July we were privileged to attend a bed turning and luncheon to benefit the Quilt Trail of Northeast TN.

We are pleased to announce the next phase of quilt barns for Holloway's Country Home.  Maria has been working with Paintbrush Studios to design and print this wonderful new panel.

It features each of our Twelve favorite quilt barns on a single panel.  The artist rendition highlights the beauty of each barn and the quilt block hung on it.  Each barn measures approximately 7"x9" and the colors coordinate beautifully with much of the Marblehead line by Ro Gregg, also from Paintbrush Studios.

We recently received a few sample panels as part of the first run of printing.  We will be shipping all preorders in late October.  Each panel is $16.95 plus $3.00 shipping.

The kit is also available for preorder!  Ask for details!

Great news for all of you who are attending AQS Chattanooga this week!  If you preorder at our booth we will pay the shipping for you!

Stop by and see Maria and Dawn today to order yours!

A Product and an Idea

Today we are sharing both a featured product and an idea that we have implemented into our fabric cutting for the shop and shows.

First, look at this beautiful quilt.

This quilt can be used as a table runner or a wallhanging.  And the beauty is that it is much simpler than it looks!  With a simple ruler from Phillips Fiber Arts, this is work of art comes to life with ease.

Next, we are introducing the long yard!

Do you hate piecing borders for your bed size quilts?  We do! So for the benefit of our customers we have begun cutting long yards.  These are 22"x72" pieces of fabric.  You get the length for your borders without having to buy extra yardage!

Come by our booth at AQS and check out the display for more information!  And while your there ask about the ruler mentioned in this post and any of our other featured items! We are looking forward to seeing you!
